Looking for childcare in Normanhurst? Here's the practical information families ask us about most often, in one place.
The centre is on Denman Parade, a short walk from Normanhurst Station and the Normanhurst shops. Most of our families live in Normanhurst itself or in the surrounding suburbs of Wahroonga, Hornsby, Thornleigh, Pennant Hills and Waitara. There's parking on Denman Parade outside the centre, and the train to the city is direct.
All meals (breakfast, morning tea, hot cooked lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack), cooked on site by Dianne, the centre cook. The education program. Sunscreen. A bucket hat. For the Possum and Koala rooms, disposable nappies and baby formula are also included. You bring a change of clothes, a comforter if your child uses one, and a labelled water bottle.
We're a CCS-approved service. Most families with children in care receive some level of subsidy. The actual gap fee, what you pay out of pocket each week, depends on your combined family income, your activity level, and the number of days. Use the CCS gap-fee calculator on the homepage to get a rough estimate, or we'll walk through your specific situation on a tour.
From 5 January 2026, the new 3-Day Guarantee means every CCS-eligible family gets at least 72 hours of subsidised care per fortnight, regardless of work or study activity. That covers three days a week for most families.
Up to 12 children. Sleep on each child's own routine. Disposable nappies included. Hayley, our Educational Leader (with us since 2000), works in this room part-time.
Up to 15 children. Toilet training supported gently. Rochelle, our Educational Leader (with us since 2005), runs this room part-time.
Up to 21 children. The preschool room with our school-readiness program. Esther works here, with a degree-level early childhood qualification.
A team that has stayed for many years, with decades of combined service at this centre. Several Early Childhood Teacher qualifications across the team. Centre Director Jacque has been with us since 2006. Educational Leader Hayley has been with us since 2000, and Rochelle since 2005. Cook Dianne has been with us since 2022. Read the full team page.
Tours run on weekdays. We show you all three rooms, the kitchen, the outdoor area, and you meet Jacque and the educators in the rooms. Tours take about 30 minutes. Book through the form on the homepage, or call us on 02 9487 5455.
We'll show you all three rooms, you'll meet Jacque and the educators, and we'll answer all your questions. Weekday times work best.
